You don't know what you have until it's gone

Ben left yesterday to start his new job in Flagstaff. I miss him already. Everytime I walk into the living room, I am surprised to not see him sitting on the sofa, working away on his laptop. So strange to think that he is up there on his own.

The girls and I drove up to spend one more night with him in his new apartment last night. Nice place, larger than I thought it would be. We walked around the neighborhood in the evening and enjoyed checking out all the houses...they are so different than those in Phoenix. Well, we have a long road ahead of us before we sell our home and choose one in Flag.

Our house goes on the market tomorrow! As I was cleaning the bathroom today (yet again) I remembered being at a birthday party last Fall and hearing a couple talk about their quest to build a new house. I was surprised to hear that the demand for housing was so high at the time that builders were using a raffle system to assign lots. The couple at the birthday party were anxiously waiting to hear whether they'd been selected by one builder and were on the waiting list at another builder's location. Not so today. New home builds are dropping in price and are now freely available. Is it any wonder that I'm concerned that we might not be able to sell our house? I have to admit that my mind is filled with doubt.

More to come.
