My obsession...

Right, so there is a lot of stuff on TV that I don't watch in spite of the hype - Survivor, for example. Absolutely no interest. But I must confess that I've recently discovered the show Grey's Anatomy and I absolutely LOVE it! When Karen visited, I told her of my (at the time) recently-discovered love of the show, and she asked me what I liked about it. Here's what I love:

1) The Mere/Dere/Vet doctor love triangle, and this season's cliffhanger...who will Meredith choose???

2) The character development - so superior to ER (my former Thursday night obsession)

3) The amazingly unique patient situations (two patients impaled by a pole on a train accident? the "pregnant" man. so never seen before.)

4) As a teenager, my ambition was to be a pediatrician, so I am immensely intrigued by the life that interns lead.

5) The fact that Shonda Rhimes (producer, creator) is Black and yet has created characters who transcend race....you don't see the Chief, Dr. Bailey (head of interns), or Dr. Burke as Black but as DOCTORS...kudos Shonda!

6) The interracial relationships (hey, say what you want, but I'm in one!).

7) Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey) who says exactly what she thinks without regard for the repercussions... "I"m pregnant, you blind moron." (said to the Chief of Surgery).

8) Izzie's compassion. She gets so involved with her patients. Love. Her. Hope she'll be back next season after the whole Denny thing.

9) Dr. McDreamy. Who would have thought that the nerd from "Can't Buy Me Love" would turn out to be so...well, dreamy!

10) Sandra Oh, aka Christina. She is awesome. *Amazingly* talented. Love her unique look and her acting abilities. I hope she does not end up leaving the show.

All I can say is, watch! I have Season 1 on DVD (thanks Wayne!) and am rationing the episodes to make them last until the new season starts next Fall.
