Permit me to brag about my first-born once again...
Okay, I know that every parent thinks their child is a genius so I'm not unique in thinking that both of mine are brilliant. But every so often one of them does something so unexpected that I'm completely taken aback.
Case in point - this morning's penny counting incident. In spite of Megan's objections that Samantha had convinced her to combine their penny collections, Sammie poured out "her" pennies and began to count them. Guessing this game would keep them both occupied for a while, I chanced a quick shower. Imagine my surprise when Sammie shortly appeared at the bathroom door to announce that she has 199 pennies. Turns out she'd cleverly lined them up in sets of ten and counted in tens to get her total. The child is BRILLIANT, I tell you.
