Obsessed?

Carpet

If I could change one thing about our house, it would be the color of our carpets. In fact, I'd vote to get rid of the thing all together. Ben and I picked out our carpet color before we had kids, not realizing that it would eventually show even the tiniest spot. And kiddos bring a lot of spots that seem to grow in size along with them.

Now I always said I wouldn't be the kind of Mommy who would obsess about keeping the kids off the carpet; I wanted a house where everyone could relax and be comfortable. I soon learned that this style does not work with light-colored carpets. Now we have rules in place about where the kids are allowed to eat, drink, and color with markers...NOT on my carpets.

Fast foward to early yesterday morning. Megan climbed into bed to wake me up, clutching a bottle of bubbles. She decided to get me up quickly by blowing bubbles into my face. In so doing, she spilled a little of the bubble solution on the sheet.

Megan: "Oh no! A stain!!"
Mommy: "What's a stain, Megz?"
Megan: "A stain means someone was eating on the carpet."

I think I'm finally getting through to them.
