My girls are very picky eaters, and naturally, what one likes is usually despised by the other. Mealtimes can be a challenge and it seems that no-one eats the same thing. Except for breakfast. Every morning I can count on the girls asking for a bowl of oatmeal and fruit, accompanied by either pancakes or waffles. This morning I must have added a bit too much liquid to Megan's oatmeal, and she struggled to eat it without leaving drips on the kitchen table. Eventually she pushed the bowl away and said, "Mommy, I don't want anymore. My oatmeal keeps jumping out of the bowl." How's that for oatmeal with a mind of its own.
Megan had her first dentist cleaning yesterday and I was so proud of the way that she strode confidently into the cleaning room when her name was called. Samantha was preparing her all day, explaining what the dentist would do and how she would sometimes have to say "ahhh" or clench her teeth together to have them cleaned. I think the piece-de-resistance was the prize doled out by the dentist for being a good patient - a balloon, sticker and a small trinket of her choice. When Daddy came home she immediately showed him her bag of goodies as well as her new Princess toothbrush, toothpaste & dental floss. And when she spoke to Auntie Rach & Auntie Karen the first thing she told them was about her trip to the dentist and her prize.
It is so hard to believe that she is 3 and will be starting preschool in just two weeks.
